Born in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, December 26, 1955, Bosnian

Education:
High School graduate in Detroit Michigan USA 1973; B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. in computer Science and Electrical Engineering at University of Sarajevo 1997, 1981 and 1988 respectively.

Research interests:
Group Decision Support Systems; Management Information Systems (MIS); Reengineering with IT; Managing Transition and Leading Change.

Position:
Professor of MIS (Management Information System) at School of Economics and at Computer Science and Electrical Engineering School, University of Sarajevo since 1989

Current professional activities:
Director of Management and Information Technology Centre, Sarajevo, since 1995; Head of the Department of Business Informatics at School of Economic University of Sarajevo, since 1994.

 

Current political activities:
President of the Social Democratic Party of B&H (SDP) since 1997. Member of Parliament of B&H, House of Representatives since 1996.

Other and previous professional and political activities:
Chairman of Council of Ministers of B&H (Prime Minister) 2001 - 2002. Minister of Foreign Affairs B&H 2001 - 2003. Acting Prime Minister 1993. Deputy Prime Minister 1992 - 1993.

Member of "Global Leaders for Tomorrow" of the World Economic Forum, since 1998. Participant and speaker in numerous international conferences and missions as expert and political personality. Awarded with numerous international and national awards for his professional and expert results.

Postdoctoral research at MIS Department and CCIT at University of Arizona, Tucson 1988/89. Consultant to various business and governmental organizations. Author over hundred research and expert papers and four books in MIS area. Author of numerous articles on Bosnian political and economic issues and series of independent TV forums on Bosnian future.

Wife Amina, daughter Dina and son Zlatko-Salko.
