Full Professor of Comparative Constitutional Law at the University of Rome, School of Political Science, from 1975 to 1997, he had been Full Professor at the Universities of Modena, Perugia, Florence. Presently he is Global Law Professor at the NYU Law School and part time Professor at the EUI in Florence. He studied law at the University of Pisa, where he graduated in 1960.

personal liberties, federalism and comparative government. His most recent
